While I am somewhat biased reviewing this book by a great educator and teacher, this book is a masterpiece in spinal biomechanics from a clinical standpoint. It is also rare these days to find a single-authored textbook due to the tremendous amount of work required. I love how the book starts from the basics and then builds upon those concepts to lead into advanced biomechanics.
This is useful not only for surgical residents and practicing spine surgeons but also for those involved in instrumentation design.
This is particularly important because with the increasing use of instrumentation in the last 2 to 3 decades, we are seeing more implant failures in our clinics that are forcing us to think more about the spinal biomechanics.
